ALBANY — The funeral service of Margaret Gavin, 84, of Albany, GA who died
Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Palmyra Medical Centers will be conducted Friday at
11:00 A.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Prince will officiate.
Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens.
A native of Troup County, GA, Mrs. Gavin had resided in Albany since 1945
moving from Lagrange, GA. Along with her late husband, Vernon B. Gavin, she
owned and operated Gavin Grocery from 1948 until she retired in 1998. She was
also a homemaker and a member of East Albany Baptist Church. Mrs. Gavin was
preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hart and a sister, Hazel Hart Blackmon.
Survivors include, two sons and their wives, Mike and Trish Gavin and Mark
and Dawn Gavin all of Leesburg, GA, a daughter and her husband, Theresa and
Donald Robine, Sr. of Albany, GA, six grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Gavin of
Valdosta, GA, Paige Brittney Gavin of Kennesaw, GA, Brandi Michelle Gavin of
Lee County, GA, Christopher Lyninger of Columbus, GA and Zack Lyninger of
Norman Park GA and Donald Robine, Jr. of Albany, GA, a step-granddaughter,
Allyson Shaver of Lee Co., GA, a niece, Anne Bolinger of Albany, GA and a
nephew, Robert Hart of St. Petersburg, FL. Survivors also include a special
family that she regarded as her own, James and Deanna Mosley, Dolan, Brant and
Jennifer Mosley.
The family is at the residence of Mark and Dawn Gavin, 139 Apalachee Drive,
Leesburg, GA, 31763.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M at
Mathews Funeral Home.
