following a lengthy illness.
Her services will be at the
graveside in the family plot at
Tazewell Cemetery, Tazewell,
Georgia on Wednesday, April 9,
2008 at 1:00 oclock. In lieu of

Ms. Findlay was born in
Tazewell, GA on February 16,
1933 daughter of the late Clyde
Hogg Halley and Mattyle
McElmurry Halley. A homemaker, she
was a graduate of Wesleyan
College in Macon, GA.
She is survived by two sons;
Prentiss Edwards Findlay IV of
Charleston, SC and Stuart
Findlay and his wife, Kathy, of
Hendersonville, NC; two daughters,
Susan Carroll and her husband,
Tom, of Aiken, SC and Laura
Strickland of Jacksonville Beach,
FL. Also surviving are six
grandchildren and one great
grandson.

Gladys Shellhouse Gilmer
CUTHBERT Gladys
Shellhouse Gilmer, 75, of Americus
and formerly of Coleman and
Shellman, died Sunday, April 6,
2008 at Magnolia Manor in
Americus. Graveside funeral
services will be conducted Tuesday,
April 8, 2008 at 10 A.M. in
Coleman Cemetery. The Rev. Olin
Johnson will officiate.
Mrs. Gilmer was born July 12,
1932, in Calhoun Co., daughter
of the late Wesley Ladon
Shellhouse and Nellie Ranew
Shellhouse. She was a homemaker
and caregiver, and a member of
the Shellman First Baptist
Church. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Clifford
Spencer Gilmer.
Survivors include two sons:
Cliff (Martha) Gilmer of Jesup,
and James (Melody) Gilmer of
Albany; a daughter: Louise
(Keith) Usry of Americus; two
brothers: Houston Shellhouse of
Columbus and Wallace
Shellhouse of Cataula; two sisters:
Wessie Bea Shattles of Shellman
and Grace Lee Edison; seven
grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
