Two arrested for selling drugs near Lee school

LEESBURG — A Calhoun County man was jailed by Lee County sheriff's deputies after they said he was selling drugs at a construction site near an elementary school.

Terral Bernard "T-bone" Ross, 33, of Morgan, was arrested Friday after deputies received a tip that he have been selling cocaine and marijuana from a work site where he was laying concrete, Lee County Sheriff's Office Col. Duane Sapp said.

"Narcotics agents with the sheriff's office set up surveillance and ultimately contacted ... Terral Bernard Ross," Sapp wrote in a news release. Sapp said Ross had over three grams of packaged cocaine and a quarter of an ounce of marijuana.

Deputies also arrested Willie Harris, 34, of Albany, who they say was found with less then an ounce of marijuana. Warrants outstanding for Harris' arrest had also been issued by another county.

Ross is being charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent within a 1,000 feet of a school, and possession of marijuana.

Harris was charged with possessing less than an ounce of marijuana.

"These arrests are significant because they occurred within 1,000 feet of a school," Sapp said.

Ross and Harris were being held Tuesday in the Lee County Jail, Sapp said.
