B.R. Tilley dies at the age of 90

ALBANY — B.R. Tilley, the founding president of what is now Darton College, died Saturday at Palmyra Medical Center at the age of 90.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors.

The founding president of then Albany Junior College, Tilley was honored just more than a month ago during ceremonies on the Darton campus when the school officially dedicated the B.R. Tilley Academic Services Building. Tilley served as president of Darton for 22 years before his retirement in 1988.
