11-year-olds are charged after 'razor fight'

  • Two 11-year-olds are charged after a fight sends on to a hospital.

ALBANY – An 11-year-old boy was stitched up after being slashed with a razor blade during a fight Monday, police reports show.

According to Albany Police Department reports, two 11-year-old boys got into an argument after one wouldn't stop picking on the other's brother.

The boys, who haven't been identified by name because of their age, got into a fight when one of them pulled a razor blade on the other, reports show.

According to the report, a scuffle for the razor ensued, which resulted in one of the boys being cut on the arm. The report says that the victim was taken to Palmyra Medical Centers for treatment, where he received 15 stitches to close the cut.

"I think they were both fighting for the blade when one of them got cut," APD spokesperson Phyllis Banks said.

The victim was charged with battery, while the suspect that started the fight was charged with aggravated assault. Both boys were released to the custody of their parents pending a court appearance.
